Searching for the Perfect Espresso Martini

Today, I am taking a break from writing about movies, to talk about something else I really love: drinking. From the Blue Ridge Mountains to the coast of Georgia, all the way down to Disney World, I have had espresso martinis from seven different locations and they are quickly becoming my favorite cocktail. In this blog post, I will be counting down the espresso martinis I've had and telling you where to find the best ones and which ones to avoid:

#7: ECHO - St. Simons Island, Georgia

For such a nice place with a great atmosphere and delicious food, I was disappointed by their espresso martinis. While it had a good, strong coffee flavor, coming out of a premade machine, this espresso martini was not worth the big bucks I had to shell out for. With practically no garnish at all, I would say to skip ECHO's espresso martinis and opt for one of their other specialty cocktails instead.

#6: Snooze - Charlotte, North Carolina

For a $5 all-day happy hour special on Mondays- Wednesdays, I won't do much complaining. However, when it comes to quality, I would say that Snooze's espresso martinis were a snooze. Tasting more like spiked chocolate milk, these rank higher than ECHO's due to the price and slightly better taste.

#5: Terralina - Lake Buena Vista, Florida

This drink was simply just "okay," I was expecting more when it came to an espresso martini from an Italian restaurant, and this drink did not live up to my expectations whatsoever.

#4: Del Sur - St. Simons Island, Georgia

This espresso martini was great. I was especially a big fan of the cinnamon that this establishment used to garnish the rim of their cocktail. Overall, it had a great coffee and fun flavor that made for a great dessert drink.

#3: Tramici's - St. Simons Isand, Georgia

Following some incredible food, this was the second espresso martini I've ever had and honestly, it's been hard to top this one. It had almost the perfect blend of flavors that have been so hard for me to find one that tops this.

#2: Dark Moon - Sylva, North Carolina

You know what they say: "There's nothing like your first time." This location served me the first espresso martini and I have been in love since. I honestly got really intoxicated that night, and I believe I might have had three of them. Either way, as a non-coffee drinker, I was blown away by this beverage. It was hard to find an espresso martini as good as this one, and that fateful night set me on a quest to find the next best espresso martini.

Before I reveal my #1 espresso martini, I want to talk about my bonus espresso beverage: the Midnight Espresso Coffee Porter. I had the chance to try this while I was in Epcot for the Food & Wine Festival and in my honest opinion: It was terrible. However, this opinion is also coming from someone who doesn't drink beer (unless it's a Miller Lite and I'm already drunk.) I'm glad I gave the drink a try, but I certainly won't be having any more of these anytime soon.

#1: The Boathouse - Lake Buena Vista, Florida

The espresso martini from The Boathouse at Disney Springs with honestly the most amazing one I've had. With an amazing balance of coffee and alcohol flavors, it was sweet without being overbearing, and I truly had no complaints about this beverage.

What do you think? Have you tried any of the espresso martinis from these locations? Which locations do you think have the best ones? Leave me a comment down below and let me know.
