M3GAN Slayed (no, literally)

When I first saw the trailer in October, I thought this movie looked so stupid. I mean, an AI-powered killer robot doll that dances? I'll pass. I only went to the cinemas to see this movie because my friend wanted to see it and I wanted to see how bad it would be. Given that I am a fan of notoriously bad movies (ex: 2016's Suicide Squad,) I don't know how well my opinion will stand, but here it goes: I actually really enjoyed this movie. While most of its real scares were delivered in the second half of the movie, I found the film to be generally interesting, and entertaining. M3GAN delivered laughs as well as kills. The parts that I thought looked dumb from the trailer were actually pretty funny in the movie. There were parts of the movie that had everyone laughing (but I feel like they were meant to be funny, or at least that is what I am going with.)

Additionally, as someone learning about the use of AI through marketing, this movie demonstrated the power of this kind of technology in society. Was M3GAN just a fun horror movie, or was it foreshadowing the strength that this kind of technology can possess? I guess only time will tell.

Anyways, go see this movie. If you've seen it, please let me know what you thought in the comments. I've seen mixed reviews, so I'm really not sure if my opinion on this movie is what seemed to be the overall general consensus.
